While we wait for final vote counts in the race for President and several House races too close to call, it’s clear that the Senate will be a crucial firewall for the pro-life movement to block the pro-abortion agenda that would be pushed by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats and promoted by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, if this pro-abortion duo wins the election.
As it stands, Republicans will hold 50 seats to the Democrats’ 48. These numbers underscore the critical importance of the two Georgia Senate runoff elections.
Under Georgia law, if a single candidate does not secure 50% plus one vote, the contest goes to a runoff with just the top two finishers, regardless of party, competing. This affected both Georgia Senate races.
Pro-life Republican senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler are fighting to hold their seats in the runoff to be held on January 5, 2021. They face pro-abortion challengers in Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, respectively.
While Perdue and Loeffler hold 100% pro-life voting records, Ossoff and Warnock support a policy of abortion on demand, which would allow abortion for any reason. Both Democrats support taxpayer funding of abortion and are backed by Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider.
These Senate races have national implications.
They will determine whether pro-life Senator Mitch McConnell remains Senate Majority Leader and in a position to block the House Democrats’ radical pro-abortion agenda of abortion without limits and taxpayer funding of abortion. If Democrats win both runoffs, each party will have 50 senators.
Were Biden to win the presidency, the deciding tie-breaker vote would be cast by Vice President Kamala Harris, in her role as President of the Senate.
If the latter were to occur, it is likely that the Democrats, in charge of both chambers of Congress plus the executive branch, would pursue an extreme agenda that could include repealing the Hyde Amendment, transforming the judiciary into a pro-abortion super-Legislature, and passing legislation to codify Roe v. Wade, or, in other words, make abortion without limits the law of the land and invalidate state pro-life laws. Senate Democrats would also be in a position to approve virtually any Supreme Court pick selected by a President Joe Biden were a vacancy to occur.
The last day to register to vote in the January 5th runoff is December 7th. If you know someone who will turn 18 by January 5th, they can register to vote. https://georgia.gov/vote-2020-runoff-elections. Their first vote can help shape history!!
The U.S. Senate may be our last line of defense against the extreme pro-abortion agenda of the Democrats. We must return David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler to the U.S. Senate to maintain pro-life control.
The lives of countless unborn children depend on our victories in these races!
