Despite achieving a 40% approval rating, pro-abortion Vice President Pamala Harris has encountered limited success in her previous job assignments, including her role as “border czar.” Consequently, she has become a significant challenge for the Trump administration on the issue of abortion.
In a recent article for Bloomberg News, Nia-Malika Henderson posited that the Democratic Party’s recent shift in stance on abortion can be attributed to several factors, including the end of Roe v. Wade and the election of the first female vice president in American history.
One might inquire as to the rationale behind this assertion. Henderson notes that the new vice president can speak from a personal perspective about the implications of the Supreme Court’s decision in Roe v. Wade for women’s lives in the United States. “Most importantly, she can channel the anger.”
“Channeling the anger” is a significant aspect of Harris’s “Reproductive Freedom Tour,” which commenced on Monday in Wisconsin and subsequently proceeded to Manassas, Virginia. Harris’s husband, Doug, accompanied her, as did pro-abortion President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill. In reference to the three appointments made by former President Trump to the Supreme Court, which made the overturning of Roe possible, Biden stated, “He is gambling that we will not hold him accountable.” Biden further observed that the president is “betting that you will cease to care.”
It is our contention that those who are pro-life will not forget that Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett are “responsible” for the decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.
However, we will counter their anger with love, as we have done for over half a century. The slogan selected for the 2023 March for Life was both illustrative and accurate. The term “pro-life” is defined as a stance that supports the protection of human life from the moment of conception until natural death. The slogan “With Every Woman, For Every Child” was employed.
Those who are pro-life do not consider the mother and child to be in opposition to one another. We adhere to the principle of formulating slogans that are mutually beneficial, a concept that is difficult for those who advocate for abortion rights to comprehend.
We advocate for the establishment of pregnancy help centers and maternity homes that provide assistance to women and families in need during and after pregnancy. It is noteworthy that those who advocate for abortion do everything in their power to eliminate both of these options that are based on the principle of life affirmation.
This stark contrast between pro-life and pro-abortion perspectives provides a clear indication of the fundamental differences between the two groups.
