It can be argued that everyone has a pro-life story to tell. While some may be more dramatic than others, it can be reasonably assumed that, by virtue of our own births, we are the result of a pro-life decision.
It is often observed that toddlers react to soft-touch fetal models in a way that is reminiscent of the way they would react to their own siblings. They frequently want to adopt them and care for them as if they were their own siblings. This observation suggests that there is something innate within us that recognizes the humanity of the preborn child.
It is only when we choose to ignore the humanity of the preborn child and the scientific evidence supporting it that any of us can deny the rights of the preborn child and of a mother to bring that irreplaceable child into the world.
It should be noted that a pregnant woman does not necessarily face fewer obstacles than other individuals. A pregnant woman may encounter a multitude of challenges, including those pertaining to relationships, finances, education, and health. However, there are a number of life-affirming approaches to addressing these challenges, which aim to protect both the mother and the unborn child from harm.
It is imperative that we do not remain silent at this juncture. It is imperative that we raise our voices in solidarity with both mothers and babies. It is imperative to inform pregnant women of the resources and support available to them during challenging periods. It is imperative that we provide support to women who find themselves in situations where they are isolated and vulnerable.
Each life is worthy of protection and advocacy, and this can be achieved through peaceful and kind-hearted means. The more individuals share their personal pro-life narratives, the greater the likelihood that additional lives will be saved.
