Pro-life Christians have got it all wrong. God actually wants some people to get abortions.
At least, that’s one way Chelsea Handler justifies the pro-choice movement. The talk show host has always been open about her choice to abort her own teenage pregnancies. She has no regrets about the choice(s) she made at 16. In a recent essay penned for Playboy magazine, Handler wrote that “I’m 41 now. I don’t ever look back and think, God, I wish I’d had that baby.”
(Interestingly, this was supposedly the first time Chelsea admitted to having not one, but two abortions. But on her Netflix show last week, she said she’s had three. When abortion is no big deal, the numbers apparently don’t matter).
It would’ve been one thing had Handler’s article stopped with her own personal story. But Handler wanted to take this opportunity to explain why pro-lifers just need to stop fighting abortion.
Handler’s unknown number of abortions made it possible for her to live life “without an unplanned child born out of an unhealthy relationship.” So she finds it “infuriating to hear [politicians] pander to the Christian right with promises they have no chance of keeping.” Because, she insists, “even if there is a God, I highly doubt he wants everybody to go through with their pregnancies.”
There are few things liberals love more than forcing Christianity to fit into their own ideology. Sure, God would definitely condone the murder of innocent babies. …Distortion of religion is a never-ending Leftist hobby. …
Typical Lefty ideology: it’s ok to disagree, as long as you don’t say it out loud or outside of a “free speech zone.” Dissenting opinions are not acceptable in a “civilized society.” But an article singing the praises of abortion in Playboy magazine, of all places? Nothing uncivilized about that.
And just to throw out one more cliché lib talking point, Chelsea suggests that, in the face of worldwide overpopulation, all those who choose to get an abortion should “be applauded for making a smart and sustainable decision.”
Liberals, saving the environment one abortion at a time.
